Halal Caramel Flan Recipe Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (12 oz) can evaporate milk
- 5 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water and bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture has thickened to a caramel consistency.
- Pour the caramel into a 9-inch round baking dish. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the milk mixture over the caramel in the baking dish.
- Place the baking dish in a larger roasting pan. Fill the roasting pan with enough hot water to come halfway up the sides of the baking dish.
- Bake the flan for 45-50 minutes, or until it is set and the top is golden brown.
- Remove the flan from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Cover the flan with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
- To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan to loosen it from the sides of the dish. Invert the flan onto a serving plate and slice it into wedges. Enjoy!
