Ingredients for Halal Indian Style Chicken Tikka Recipe
- 1 lb boneless, skinless halal chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 (14.5 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the chicken, yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, coriander, chili powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the chicken. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight.
- Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and sauté until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the marinated chicken to the pot and cook until it is no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
- Add the crushed tomatoes and heavy cream to the pot and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Garnish the chicken tikka masala with chopped fresh cilantro and serve over rice or with naan bread. Enjoy!
